Meet Tiny (20210813-01)
Foster comments: Tiny is such a wonderfully good boy who has charmed our whole neighbourhood. He is a quick learner, clean eater, friend to cats, and a huge fan of his crate. Tiny doesn’t have separation anxiety or destructive behaviour. In fact, he’s earned the privilege of being trusted to roam the house instead of being crated when he is left alone (usually only 3-4 hours at a time). We usually find him happily napping in his open crate when we return.
He has a lot of energy and loves to play - his favourite games are fetch and tug-o-war. Tiny does have some hip dysplasia and is on long-term medication to treat the inflammation/pain. He also has recommended therapeutic exercises to help keep him fit without added stress to his joints.
He is very food-motivated and absolutely not a picky eater. Tiny is very excited and happy to be around children but he would be best in a house with older kids or teenagers. He’s not very aware of his own size and strength when playing. He is, however, protective of his people. Tiny could benefit from having another dog friend to play with.
Tiny is afraid of and reactive to moving things on wheels. He has a tendency to lunge and bark at fast-moving cars and cyclists on walks. We’ve made some good progress with training and the right halti to help him overcome his fear but he will need a strong and dedicated adopter to continue his training. For this reason, he would be best living away from busy roads.
