Good with kids: yes, will do better with older kids that are not as loud/rowdy though.
Good with other dogs: yes
Good with cats: no
House trained: may have accidents inside the home at first, but with a consistent potty schedule should not have a problem adjusting
Crate Trained: unknown, he did well in the crate during car rides but otherwise is not crated. The adopter may need to continue with crate training once he is home to get him comfortable!
Energy level: medium
Can be handled/touched: yes
Barker: he can be, for this reason should not go to an apartment. When he first got into his foster home he was obviously scared and unsure of what was going on, so he would wander around and bark aimlessly. Once he got comfortable this ceased.
Flight Risk: yes, should be double leashed and supervised at all times in the yard until he is comfortable
Food aggressive: none noticed with people, unsure about other animals
Current food: shelter food, it is not consistent as it is all donation
Walks on leash: he does not have much experience walking on leash, so his owners will have to work with him on this
Leash reactive to people or dogs: No
Rides in car: does well when crated, have not let him have free reign in the vehicle
Destructive: no but he is not given opportunity to be
Needs a home with yard: YES!
Needs another dog: No, he would be great as an only dog- would love to soak up all of the attention
Can live in an apartment: No

Backstory: Bear’s owners unfortunately had to suddenly leave the country and wanted to make sure he was safe and with people who would help him find a good home!

Foster Comments: He seems to like dogs. We did a walk meet then back yard with our pup and he really liked her. I’ve been keeping them separate except for a walk and back yard greeting this morning though. He is a big strong boy and she’s young and likes to play hard. He pulls some on leash but he does take correction and does walk beside some. He is very quiet in the crate and doesn’t mind going in. He has adjusted well. He’s following me around now and wants to be with me when he’s out of his crate but he’s fine in the crate and doesn’t cry or whine when we leave the room or the first night. He takes treats gently and will sit for them.
