Cowboy is a sweet and very loving male lab mix. He is currently 54 lbs and was a stray here in San Antonio. He has an old injury to his right front paw but X-rays show it’s about 1-2 months old and will heal on its own without long term issues. Cowboy will lead a normal life and does not affect gait. Vet recommends to keep him lean to maintain less pressure on foot. He’s extremely gentle and has done amazing with our dogs, my husband and me and our 2 year old. He needs some practice on the leash and doesn’t know any commands yet. We will be working on crate training as well. He shows no reactivity and is loving to everyone. He can be a bit mouthy (puts arm in mouth) to get your attention. It’s gentle but a habit we are trying to break. He craves human attention and love. He’s a wonderful dog and I’d recommend a family with kids and people to give him lots of attention. He’d enjoy a yard to run around in but not necessary in my opinion. He rides great in the car and takes treats nicely. Everyone who meets him loves him. He’s also very handsome and has intense and kind eyes. He needs someone gentle and patient as he has flinched and cowered when he came to us and appears to have been hit or abused at some point.
