Kodiak is a beautiful senior girl that will need an adopter experienced with a husky mix. She’s very quiet, curious and intelligent. She does well on a leash but is very independent and ignores recall attempts. She mostly ignores other dogs, and would do fine with another mellow, large senior dog. She does well inside a home as long as she can see out the window and you are okay with always leaving blinds up. Kodiak is shy when you first meet her and needs time to build trust. She may never be the cuddly lap-dog type, but sometimes does seek out affection. She loves to be brushed, which will be needed to keep her coat beautiful. I currently let her out back but stay out there with her and she’s on a long training lead the entire time, so if you don’t have a proper enclosure but are willing to spend lots of time outside with her with her on a long leash, that could possibly be an option. She loves to be outside and loves the snow but hates thunder and will try very hard to escape out of fear.

If you are experienced, patient, kind, have a quiet household, are willing to work to build trust, and love spending time outdoors, then Kodiak might be the girl for you!
