From Texas
Good manners and “boundaries” weren’t words that were used too often in our house so I’m tryin’ to make up for lost time. But this whole “bein’ a lady” is darn hard work. My foster mom says I’m a work in progress! She says that I could outpester any pest! But that’s just Mom-talk for saying that I’m her favourite.
Truth is, I’ll never be one of those goody two-shoes girls who hates to get her paws in the mud, I’m always up for a hike or a game of ball. I try real hard to explain to mom that no one wants a dog that just lays around all day!
She swears that I’m the smartest dog that’s been through her door. She’s pretty sure we’re going to take the prize at any obedience classes we attend.
Anyway, all labs are puppies for a full two years, and then kaboom! We just seem to settle right down.
My name is Marnie and it’s safe to say that summer is going to be a lot more fun with me by your side. I’m 53 lb and only 14 months old. I get along with everything and even the family cat, although she’s a pretty dog-savvy cat! I’m house trained and crate trained.

Name: Marnie
Weight: 53 lbs
Age: 14 months
Gender: Female
Spayed/Neutered: yes
Breed: lab mix
Colour: black

Medical: : Marnie was hit by a car and has some nerve damage to her front leg. She is pretty healed and only occasionally flips her paw. She can run and play like any other dog ! I almost wish she would slow down but she doesn’t! Nothing was broken just nerve damage.

Neck size (for collar):
Height (from top of head):
Length (from nose to base of tail):
Crate size recommended: 36 inch

Good with adults: yes
Good with kids: yes but maybe not super small ones so not knocked down
Good with other dogs: yes
Good with cats: yes but my cat is not a runner
House trained: she has been going potty inside lately . She tends to drink too much kiddie pool water. She is also learning after being left alone in a house for months to not potty inside. She had only gone in her crate once and does well unless drinks a ton of water.
Crate trained: yes but she wants to see her people.
Energy level: medium if inside relaxing, but I’d say more high energy level.
Can be handled/touched: yes very sweet
Barker: at the dogs if being ignored and wants to play
Flight risk: yes. She is a fence jumper !!
Food aggressive: no
Walks on leash: yes but she is shockingly strong and pulls !! Needs major work and probably a gentle lead leash.
Rides well in car: she does but moves around
Destructive: she isn’t unless locked in a room and may scratch the door or chew it. She loves her chew bones..need lots of chew bones!
Needs a home with a yard: yes and probably fence. I’d supervise her carefully for safety.
Needs a home with another dog: either way
Can live in an apartment: no

Foster insights/story : Marnie is a wild one !! She is very very energetic and surprisingly strong ! She will win over any heart with her amazing personality!! She is shockingly smart too and with training would be amazing! She tends to suffer separation anxiety at first but its 100 times better. She is ok in her kennel if near the other dogs or people. She loves tug of war ! This girl would drive me crazy at times because she is high energy when we’re outside but inside she is quite mellow as long as has her bones and can be by her human. She is a foster I love and will always have a special place in my heart for her. She will keep you laughing !! She loves to wade in kiddie pools !
