Stryker and Fiora have been a joy to have! We have them sharing a large kennel in our boarding kennels. They both get along well with other dogs. They are not joined at the hip, but they definitely keep each other in eyesight and Stryker is comfortable as long as Fi is comfortable. We have seen NO evidence of anxiety (including separation anxiety) as long as the two are together. Stryker is the most laid-back (even though he is the one with the separation anxiety), and his energy level would be described as low. Fiora is the more energetic of the two – she is more playful. However, I would still rate her low-medium energy level. Both dogs enjoy playing outside, loving on humans, and getting scratches and attention. Both dogs have lived with cats and dogs and done well. Both dogs are generally laid-back and easy going.
Backstory: Stryker and Fi were “foster fails” – their owner fostered dogs for the local humane society, and fell in love with each of these dogs and wound up adopting both. Stryker had severe separation anxiety, and destroyed his crate and the house. They eventually found that he was FINE as long as he is crated with his best friend Fi. These two have been crated together for 5 years now. Their owner of 5-6 years has recently had a drastic medical decline, and is having to move in with family. She is allowed to bring one pet with her, so she is keeping her 14 year old dog that she has had for his entire life. She is HEARTBROKEN and devastated, but specifically asked that a rescue take Stryker and Fi to ensure they find the best home possible, together.
