Nora is home
I’d like to start off by saying that the NDR volunteers are simply, the BEST. We’ve had many interactions with various volunteers along the way and everyone has been incredibly helpful and supportive. Nora was experiencing some unexpected issues as she transitioned into our home, and the NDR volunteers have been with us every step of the way.
Nora has come a long way— figuratively and quite literally. She made a long trip from Mexico to get to us. We have stayed in touch with our friends at Lomito AC in Guadalajara, and it has been wonderful sharing Nora’s story with them too. A special shout-out to Monica, Romina, and Yoshimi who love Nora as much as we do, and who know what a special girl she is!
In the beginning, things were… difficult. She struggled to be alone even for a minute without crying. She has had a few hiccups meeting new friends and other puppy pals. There has been some destructive chewing. Although, we are happy to report that Nora is adjusting to her new home.
She is a big fan of her new toys and enjoys zooming around the yard. She is getting really used to walking on a leash, and has learned a few tricks too! A funny things that she does, is she will pick up a sock or shoe or mitten and bring it into the room we’re in. Almost as to say, “Hey look, I found this for you!” She sleeps almost exclusively on her back in the weirdest places and positions, and it never fails to make us laugh.
Nora’s DNA report came back and we were surprised by the results! Would you have guessed more Poodle than Border Collie?
