Canadian Giving Challenge
Manitoba Dogs Need Your Help!
The Great Canadian Giving Challenge is here!
Every dollar donated online to NDR in the month of June earns us a chance to win the $20,000 grand prize from Canada Helps! Your gift will help the dogs that need it the most: Those on death row, those lost, those hungry and those broken hearted. Your gift will give these dogs the two things they wish for: the safety of a home and the love of a family.
Every dollar is an entry for us to win $20.000! Please help us win!
Terry wants everyone to know that it won’t be long before an amazing team of volunteers sets out on the arduous drive to Manitoba, a drive as long as from Toronto to Orlando, Florida. It’s a road trip unlike any other we’ve undertaken…a road trip for the sole purpose of rescuing some of the many homeless, abandoned and unwanted dogs.
Dogs in the Northern communities of Manitoba lead a perilous life…there are no dog park visits or embroidered winter coats for these dogs. Many are abandoned, many are neglected and many more are pregnant moms and moms with puppies. Many dogs freeze to death over the winter. The average life span for these dogs is a mere 1.7 years.
These are communities with challenges that we can scarcely imagine – there are huge distances between community veterinarians. The average cost of a small bag of dog food in some communities is $90.00. Niagara Dog Rescue works in harmony with the communities we help. As well as rescuing as many strays as we can, we will also take any owner surrendered dogs. The residents of the communities are heavily involved and no dog is ever taken without consent.
Our intrepid team of volunteers will drive to Winnipeg where we will meet up with volunteers from MAA (Manitoba Animal Alliance). We will then drive up to the northern communities of Norway House and Cross Lake. We will then drive straight back to Ontario (with plenty of rest breaks for our precious canine cargo). We are hoping to bring back as many as 40 in-need dogs.
These dogs desperately need help and Niagara Dog Rescue desperately needs your help in order to save them. We are asking for your assistance to help us rescue these sweet and innocent souls. We will be renting two cube vans at a considerable cost; plus gas. We are estimating the total cost of this trip to be approximately $5000. We need your support! It is only with your help that we can save these dogs from horrendous circumstances and certain death.
Will you help our Manitoba dogs by donating today? Please help us reach our goal of $5000. Every dollar counts!
Not able to donate? Help us by spreading the word to your friends, family, and fellow dog lovers! Follow us on social media for cute photos and updates on our Northern Manitoba adoptable dogs.
