Meet Mama Stella (20241022-01) and Sissy (20241022-02)
History (how did you acquire dog?): Mama Stella was found abandoned in a rural area with her two older puppies. She and Sissy clung together, while Scout - the male puppy - went to look for help for all of them
Other important info: Mama Stella’s journey began in a remote rural area, where she was found abandoned with two of her older puppies. A third puppy was discovered nearby a few weeks later, but from the beginning, it was clear that Mama Stella shared a special connection with her daughter, Sissy. The bond between them was unmistakable, far stronger than what Mama Stella seemed to share with the rest of her pack.
Mama Stella and Sissy have remained inseparable ever since. Their close relationship has provided both of them with comfort and security as they’ve navigated the uncertainties of their past. Mama Stella, the calm and nurturing mother, watches over Sissy, and Sissy finds comfort being with her mom. Both dogs have adapted well in foster care, where their affectionate nature has shone through. They are crate trained, sleep peacefully through the night, and are not prone to nuisance barking. Sissy, who has a prey drive, can be a bit more energetic, while Mama Stella maintains a calmer presence. Because of Sissy’s instincts, a home without cats would be ideal for them.
They play, sleep, and eat together in perfect harmony, sharing an unbreakable bond. While they love people, Mama Stella and Sissy seem content as long as they have each other. A home with a fenced yard where they can exercise together would be a dream for them, and older children who understand dogs would make perfect playmates. Though Sissy needs some work on leash manners, and both dogs could benefit from additional training, their eagerness to please is evident. The connection between Mama Stella and Sissy, forged through hardship and resilience, makes them the perfect pair for a family that is ready to welcome not just one, but two sweet, loyal companions. With their gentle hearts and unwavering bond, Mama Stella and Sissy are ready to give and receive love in a forever home.
