Meet Ryder (20240821-04)

BACKSTORY: Ryder was found as a stray dirty and skinny and was immediately sent to me as a foster. I have had him since July 18, 2024. He was just 10 pounds at the time.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This puppy is INCREDIBLY INTELLIGENT! Highly treat motivated. Within 4 days, he knew Come, Sit, Down and would focus on me everywhere I went in the house. He went to his first training class and the instructor was amazed at his intelligence. He has strong herding instincts and will be a dog that needs a lot of exercise and training to keep his mind busy. He would make an EXCELLENT Agility Competition dog or Agility just for fun. His strong herding instincts will not change. It is who he is and it’s in his blood.
He will continue to try to gather other animals together by nipping the back of their legs or pulling on their neck skin. He will also be an EXTREMELY loyal dog to his owner because of those same herding instincts.

He knows or is learning the following commands:
Hurry Up – Pee/Poo
Stay: Stay where you are
Come: Come to me
Down: Lay down
No jump – Stop jumping up on me.
Leave it – Leave something or another dog alone. Stop the behavior he is engaging in.
No bite – Stop using your mouth to get my attention.
Heel: Walk beside my left side
Focus: Keep your eyes on me when you are walking beside me on a leash. Full attention to the human and nothing else.
Outside: Go outside to the backyard
Go: Go away from me
Sit: Sit down
