Meet Trixie (20240907-02)
Backstory:
Trixie was brought to the shelter as an owner surrender because her owners got a new puppy from a breeder and couldn’t handle both dogs. She wasn’t aggressive at all, she just ignored the other dog and corrected its behavior when it got in her face. Since being at the shelter we’ve not noticed any signs of aggression with other animals. She simply ignores them. With proper introductions, we don’t see having another dog in her home to be any issue what so ever.
Trixie also came to us with a severe hot spot on her bum area that is being treated with medication and getting better daily. Despite losing the only home she’s ever known Trixie has taken everything fairly well and has adjusted to the shelter life in a way no dog should ever have too.
Foster comments: Trixie is a very loving dog that just wants to be around her people at all times. She acts silly and goofy and loves to get belly rubs and scratches whenever she can. She is medium energy but does get the zoomies in the house after she finishes her walks or out in the backyard after she does her business. She also likes playing fetch with her ball or anything for that matter that can be thrown. I believe she would prefer to be an only dog as she is working through some food related and jealousy issues with our other 2 dogs but would be an awesome addition to the right family. She truly loves her people and does good when meeting other people or dogs on our walks. She is highly food motivated and would do almost anything for a treat.
