Meet Jill (20230828-02)

Backstory:
Jill was brought to the shelter on June 2nd 2023 as an “owner surrender” with her mom, brother and sister from a situation that was getting wildly out of control. A lady had called stating that her neighbour had dogs that constantly ran loose and puppies were being born every few months. She offered to bring in one mom dog and her puppies and get the remaining females spayed.
Jill came in and was very unsure of the scary shelter. She was covered in dirt, feces, urine, and was very underweight.
It has been a couple of months since Jill came to be with us and she has come out of her shell quite a bit! She still gets nervous around new people, but is still such a good little girl. She seldom has accidents inside anymore and we are working at leash walking and progressing well. She loves walking with her brother Joel by her side and finds comfort in other dogs, so we think a home with a confident pup will be ideal for her.
Jill has been tested with both dogs and cats and did amazing. She was also tested with men, women, and children and did well other than being scared for the first little bit. She may pee on herself at first if very scared so some accidents in the beginning are to be expected.
Jill’s ideal family would be very patient and loving family who will give her the time she needs to feel comfortable and not rush or force her into things she’s not comfortable with. We would love a home that could take both siblings as they adore each other, but a home with another confident pup would be just as great!
