Meet Antonio (20251129-02)

Foster insights/backstory: Meet Antonio — the brave little terrier with a heart that’s finally learning to feel safe.
Once found as a terrified stray and pulled from a busy Texas shelter, Antonio has blossomed into the sweetest, most affectionate companion. He may be small, but his personality (and his love) are absolutely giant.
Antonio is a medium-to-high–energy pup who adores romping around the yard and playing with his doggy friends. But don’t let his zoomies fool you—he’s equally content curling up beside you for movie time or a relaxing nap. He’s housetrained (he even rings a bell when he needs to go out!) and crate-trained, though he’d much rather be out exploring the world with his humans.
He gets along well with other dogs and is politely curious around cats. With adults he’s wonderful, and he’d do best with older children who can respect his boundaries.
Because of his past, Antonio still needs slow, gentle introductions to new people—he warms up beautifully, he just needs to know he’s safe. He can be barky when he spots unfamiliar dogs or strangers on walks, and like many smart pups, he may get into mischief if he’s bored. A home with a yard, plenty of playtime, and good chew toys will help him shine.
Antonio is looking for a patient, loving adopter who can show him that the world isn’t so scary anymore. In return, he’ll give you endless loyalty, laughter, and snuggles.
Open your heart to Antonio—you’ll be amazed how much love fits into one little dog.
